Repeat Dose Toxicity
Repeated dose toxicity test is to examine the toxicity characteristics of animals after repeated administration of the test substance, which is an important part of non-clinical safety evaluation. Repeated dose toxicity test can: predict the clinical adverse effects that may be caused by the subject, including the nature, degree, quantitative and temporal relationship, and reversibility of the adverse effects; determine the toxicity of the subject repeated administration of target organs or target tissues; if possible, determine the no observed adverse effect level (NOAEL); speculate the starting dose for the first in human (FIH) clinical trial to provide a safe dose range for the subsequent clinical trial; and provide a reference for the monitoring and prevention of clinical adverse effects.
