Animal models of burns and scalds

Burn is a common skin injury in life, which generally refers to an acute skin injury that occurs as a result of contact with high heat substances such as fire, boiling water and hot oil. In daily life burns are mainly caused by hot water, hot soup, hot oil, hot porridge, stove fire, electric iron, steam and so on. Animal models of burns are an extremely important experimental method and means for basic and applied research in the field of burn surgery. Commonly used animals in experiments are rabbits, rats and mice; if the experimental process involves radiation, burn (scald) compound experiments, you can choose the dog, rats and mice, do not choose rabbits, because irradiation often causes shock and death to rabbits. The methods of establishing the scald model include: flame burn method, high temperature scald method, chemical cauterization method, and electric burn method. Testing indexes include animal appearance observation, pathology, blood inflammatory factor level testing, etc.
