Vitiligo
Vitiligo is an autoimmune skin disease characterized by localized or generalized loss of pigmentation. It is mainly caused by the reduction in the number of melanocytes or the loss of their function. The skin depigmentation is caused by the selective loss of melanocytes.
In clinical, it is usually manifested as milky white or porcelain white depigmented patches, local itching or damage. The main affected area is the face, and it can also occur on the head, neck, trunk, hands, feet and other parts. At present, its pathogenesis is not yet completely clear, and it may involve multiple factors, including genetic susceptibility, autoimmunity, oxidative stress, neuroendocrine disorders, and environmental factors, etc.
